The San Diego Committee on Foreign Relations (an affiliate of the American Committee on Foreign Relations) is bringing its Speaker Series to Rancho Santa Fe this year.
There will be four dinner events in the series that will take place at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club, between 6pm to 9pm on the following dates:
October 15th: “The World Politics of a Changing Energy Landscape”
Speaker: James Clad, Senior Advisor at the Center for Naval Analyses and former Deputy Assistant of Defense for Asia
December 3rd: “Negotiating Peace with Iran: Interim Agreement on Iran’s Nuclear Program”
Speaker: Christian Whiton, Principal of D.C. International Advisory Group and former Special Advisor to the Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs, Author of Smart Power: Between Diplomacy and War.
January 28th: “The Boundaries of the Battlefield: Drones and the Legal Geography of War”
Speaker to be confirmed: Mike Lewis, Associate Professor of Law at Ohio Northern University’s Claude W. Pettit College of Law
March 18th: “Global Health Challenges: Emerging Trends in Policy, Governance and Diplomacy”
Speaker to be confirmed: Dr. Katherine E. Bliss, Sr. Associate at CSIS Global Health Policy Center
SDCFR is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting dialogue between local leadership and American foreign-policy makers. The San Diego chapter of the ACFR was formed in September 2006, and is part of 15 committees nation-wide.
Perrin Orr is the Founder and Director of the San Diego chapter and has been a resident of the Ranch for the past 25 years.
An annual membership fee of $150 is due on or before October 10th to participate in SDCFR activities. Each dinner event will be billed separately at $50 for SDCFR members and $75 for guests.
