SFID 'Be Water Smart' Poster Contest Winners Announced

On June 16, 2016, the Santa Fe Irrigation District Board of Directors will recognize the top three winners for the “Be Water Wise” Water Awareness Poster Contest. The annual poster contest is open to all fourth graders in the District’s service area. The winning posters are featured on a full page for one of the months in a regional North County Water Agencies calendar.

This year’s winners are: first place, Eden; second place, Sofia; and in third place, Tell. All the winners this year come from the Santa Fe Christian School in Solana Beach. The District recognizes the top three winners with gift certificates and a personalized water bottle.

About the “Be Water Smart” Poster Contest:

Since the early 1990’s, the Santa Fe Irrigation District has partnered with other North San Diego County water agencies (NCWA) to develop public information campaigns focusing on water issues. The agencies work together to provide quality programs to North County customers and deliver common, cohesive messages in the area of water conservation. Currently, the NCWA group consists of 14 water agencies.

The poster contest began in 1993, and since then, over 5,500 children from the Santa Fe Irrigation District service area have participated in the Water Awareness Poster Contest.
