Rumor has it a legendary Bay Area tapas bar is making its way to Rancho Santa Fe. César, an authentic Spanish tapas bar with a contemporary twist, opened 18 years ago in Berkeley and is now bringing its deliciousness to RSF in June or July.
San Diego Eater reports:
"César...will debut in a 3,000-square-foot space within the Del Rayo Village Shopping center (16079 San Dieguito Road).
Owner Richard Mazzera, along with his wife and business partner Terumi Shibata-Mazzera have been visiting the area for several years and thought the concept would be a great fit for the neighborhood, especially because the restaurant's new location will capitalize on its proximity to Chino Farm, which has been supplying Chez Panisse with produce since its inception.
Mazzera told Eater that the design and menu of the North County eatery, which should open in June or July, will be virtually identical to the original Berkeley flagship."
